Here we go...

Some of you may remember that Chad and I had our kitchen upgraded about a year ago. For those of you who do not remember, we replaced our white formica countertops with beautiful granite, our white tile backsplash with riverstone tile, and our peeling laminte floors with porcelain tile!!
Before

After

We talked about having our cheap builder grade cabinets painted and glazed, but we never got around to it!! So....we have decided to start this project...ourselves!! Watch out handy home decoraters, here we come!! We are not exactly sure what we are getting ourselves into except that it is going to be a horribly painful task!! I just want to sand the cabinets and start painting, which the guy at Sherwin Williams agreed was okay to do. Not my perfectionist husband!! He found a website that he trusts more than me and the sherwin williams guy!! He wants to clean the cabinets with some crazy chemically toxic cleaner, sand them, prime them, sand them again, and then start painting them white! Don't forget, after painting them white, I want to put a brown glaze on them to give them an antique look...we are still fighting out this one!! I'm sure I will have some wonderful stories for you!!

Fun Weekend

We had a fun weekend. Saturday, Camryn had her first dance class. There are 7 girls in the class and 3 teachers. They started off with tap....Camryn didn't move. When the girls came in, the teacher told them to put their bag on the wall and go stand on a "dance home" which is like a handprint. I think Cam was scared to move from it. She was more focused on the little handprint on the floor. If she moved it, she bent down to fix it. At one point, the teacher was holding her hand trying to get her to do the moves...nope!! All of us moms get to stand out in the hallway and watch through a tiny window. We had fun laughing!! Camryn was not alone in standing still. There were only 2 girls that actually did all the moves, and they have taken dance before!! On to ballet...Camryn did much better. She actually did some of the moves. She was still a little shy though!

After dance we went to Westin Stonebriar to go swimming with my dad, stepmom and sister!! Camryn had so much fun swimming. She loved going down the slide into the pool. She would only go with Aunt Katie because she didn't get her face wet when they went down! They also have a little putt-putt green and a ping pong table--Camryn enjoyed helping us play. Madison went swimming for a little while and then took a nap. Madison loved splashing the water and getting her face wet, so we decided to dunk her under...she didn't love that so much!! Both girls crashed after lunch!

Tuesday Toddler Tales

The other day, Camryn took a pack of gum out of my diaper bag and asked what it was. I told her it was gum and that she could have some when she is older.
Tonight in the bath, she stretched her legs out across the bath and told her daddy, "I'm getting longer." Chad told her she was getting bigger and older. She asked, "old?" Chad told her that she is getting older every day. She followed up with, "gum?" Kids just don't forget!!!

Review

We had a play date at our house last week. Madison seems to be the favorite toy, so I let the girls hold her.

My mom was in town this weekend to find an apartment!! She is moving here from Houston. I am so excited to have my mommy close by...it is going to be so much fun!!

Madison was 6 months on Aug 25...I know, I'm late!!

Miss Madison....

At your 6 month dr. visit, you were 15.6lbs and 25in...both 25-50%. Dr. Newton said you couldn't be more perfect!! You were showing off for him, trying to grab all of his stuff and trying to roll over while he examined you! You are trying so hard to sit up. You basically have it, but you fall over after a few minutes. You still roll everywhere to get what you want. You love Camryn's toys, and she hates you touching them. Camryn can just look at you and you start laughing. You are still the easiest baby in the world. You never cry. You sleep like a champ. You are my little thumb sucker. I think I have a special place in my heart for thumb suckers, since I sucked my thumb forever. I always know when you get tired because that thumb goes in your mouth!

We have been busy, so I haven't done an official 6 month photoshoot!
