Dear Family & Friends-
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce to you DMK Baby. This is my new business venture specializing in handmade baby blankets, lovies and burp cloths. All blankets are handmade (who knew I could sew!). Each blanket is made from fabric designers such as Amy Butler, Michael Miller and Alexander Henry and backed in soft minky chenille. These are perfect to wrap up your little one and they make great shower gifts too.
Check out my website www.dmkbaby.com where you can purchase the blankets. Please forward this email on to all your family and friends, especially those who are expecting!! If you don't see what you are looking for please let me know and I'll do my best to get you what you need. I am adding new blankets daily, so check in often.
Thanks so much and Happy shopping!

4 Months
I can't believe Madison is already 4 months old. I'm not sure where the time has gone. We went to the doctor today for her check-up:
Weight: 11.5 (10%)
Height: 23.3 (25%)
Head: 15.8 (50%)
Her weight dropped from 50% to 10%. The doctor said he wasn't too concerned since she is sleeping all night and not acting hungry. He said we should start her on cereal and keep an eye on her. Either she is going to be a petite girl or she is not getting enough to eat. I started having problems breastfeeding with Camryn around this age, so naturally, I'm a little worried. He told me I could bring her in for a weight check any time if I'm concerned...I just might take him up on that!!
Other than that, she is doing great! She is tracking objects with her eyes, reaching out and grabbing things, smiling, and starting to roll one way. We haven't really gotten a laugh out of her yet. A few times, she has acted like she was going to laugh, but then she didn't. Even that much was work...I guess she is just a more serious baby!!
She got 4 shots and an oral vaccine today. She did amazing. She didn't cry until after the second shot, and she only cried for about 5 seconds. What a tough kid!!
Here are some pics from our 4 month photo shoot. Of course Camryn wants in all the photos!

We are Home
Our trip was so much fun! We drove to Hardin, Kentucky, which took about 13 hours. The kids were actually very well behaved until the last hour. Camryn just watched movies and ate snacks! Madison slept, I guess...she was pretty quiet. We stopped in Memphis to eat some BBQ at Neely's (http://www.neelysbbq.com/home.htm). It was yummy! We arrived at the cabin around 7pm. The first night we just ate dinner with the family and hung out. This was a family reunion on Chad's side of the family. It was his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and their kids...there are 12 kids all together under 10 (I think)!! The rest of the week we had all sorts of fun! Chad and I left Camryn and Madsion (with a bottle) to go out on the boat for a few hours. Chad had some fun with different water sports...I just enjoyed being child free!! Another day, we took Camryn out on the boat for a few hours. She loved it! She liked going fast. We even got her to go tubing with Chad! Chad did a little fishing and lots of golfing. I mostly hung out with the kids and read books! We went to the pool everyday! The drive home wasn't bad. We got home in 11 1/2 hours and everyone behaved!

First night, Camryn opening books from Grammy!

Chad skiing!

Chad attempting to wakeboard!

Chad kneeboarding!

Chad and Camryn tubing! She had her hands up in the air..she loved it!

Me taking a picture of myself because I am never in the pictures!!

My babies are sick
Madison was the easiest baby. She loved her sleep, and she slept like a champ. Then that changed, and it has gradually become worse. She is up all night and doesn't nap during the day. So, I decided something must be wrong and took her in. She has fluid behind her right ear...like an ear infection. She had this at her 2 month check-up, but since she wasn't showing any signs we decided not to treat it. Either it went away and came back, or it never went away. So, Madison is on her first antibiotic. This probably makes me a bad mom, but....I really hope it is the ear that is keeping her up. At least then, the antibiotics will kick in and she will go back to sleeping. I have been spoilled. I would much rather have a newborn that doesn't sleep...at least then you expect it.
Since I was taking Madison in, I thought I would have Camryn seen too. This kid is constantly sick with a runny nose and cough. So, she has another sinus infection and is on antibiotics too! She has been to the doctor like every month or every other month since I was pregnant. I love my pediatrician, but I'm tired of seeing him! His thoughts...it is either: a) allergies, and the claritin alone isn't working, or b) she is getting colds and her adenoids are enlarged so the fluid isn't draining and it is turning in to infections. We expected her to get sick since this is her first winter in MDO program, but we expected her body to get over the colds, not have to be on an antibiotic after every cold. So, she is on an antibiotic to kill this infection. We are also starting a nasal spray once a day to see if it is allergies. If we are back at the doctor in a month or two, it is time to see an ENT. Let's all pray that it is just allergies and this medicine helps.
My poor girls. So, I have had no sleep going on a week now, Chad is leaving for New York today, and we are headed to Kentucky this weekend. I pray everyone is healthy and sleeping well by then!

Potty Trained
My dearest Camryn is officially a big girl now. She is no longer the little baby that used to need her mommy. She has turned into little miss "I do it all by myself." I am so proud of the little girl she has become. She is wearing her big girl panties now, and she loves it! We have not had an accident in a few days now. She even does great when we are out and about. We went to the splash park the other day, and she had to go potty. There are no bathrooms there, so we had to potty on the grass. She thought that was fun! She had to tell everyone that she peed on the grass!! Her baby days are now gone (I guess they have been for a while, I was just holding on to them...as long as she was in diapers, she was still my "baby"). On to the next chapter, I hope it's as rewarding as the last!

Stiff Drink Please
We get home from the splash park, I feed Madison and start dinner. I usually put Madison in her bouncy seat on the kitchen counter so we can chat while I cook. This also keeps her away from Camryn. Usually, I turn on cartoons for Camryn, but I have been trying not to lately. Tonight, Madison decides to be fussy. I finally give up, turn on Baby Einstein and sit Madison and Camryn down in front of it. I at least get dinner started before Madison decides she is way over stimulated and screaming. I turn off tv and head to the nursery to calm Madison down. Camryn is on the potty and then washing her hands, which can take way longer than it needs to at times. Madison is not calming down. She is screaming and mad, but I can tell she is tired. I keep trying. Camryn comes in the room wanting to give her babydoll a bath in the sink (the water is still running). I tell her no and to turn the water off. A few minutes later, Madison is still screaming and the water is still running. I put Madison in the crib, screaming, and go to check on Camryn. The bathroom is flooded. The water has been running and the drain is closed. The carpert outside the door is soaked and there is a good few inches of water on the floor. I turn off the water, take Camryn's clothes off, grab my cellphone, call Chad to get his butt home, and head back to calm down Madison who is still screaming. At this point Camryn is standing beside me whining because she is naked and wet. Madison is screaming...I can't deal with whining and screaming at the same time. I put Camryn in her room and lock the door. Finally, I get Madison to sleep. When I go to get Camryn, she has put on big girl panties and her rain boots. She at least helped me clean the bathroom floors. All this time, dinner is cooking and I'm praying that it is not burning. I get everything cleaned up, dinner out of the oven, and Madison starts screaming again. Four hours later, she is finally asleep for good (I hope) and I am off to have a much needed glass of wine.
Tuesday Toddler Tales
Chad and I have an engagement picture that was framed with a mat that everyone signed at our wedding hanging in our dining room. I was putting Camryn in the stoller the other night to go on a walk....
Camryn: Mommy, that's you and daddy.
Me: That's right. That's mommy and daddy when we got married.
Camryn: Oh (with such a serious frown on her face), Camryn not get married.
Me: One day, when you are big like mommy, you can get married.
Camryn: Oh (with such excitement and suprise) I can! Camryn get married. Yeah (clapping).
I don't think she has a clue what that means, but it sure did make her day! As we were walking, I was telling Chad this story since he missed it. Camryn must have been listening becuase she started saying "Camryn get married"....too cute!

Sleep...
Madison has leanred to roll over from her back to her stomach. She HATES being on her stomach. She wakes up screaming multiple times at night because she has rolled over. I have to go in her room, roll her back over, and calm her down. Needless to say, my once good sleeper is no longer a good sleeper. I have finally seen what it is like to be sleep deprived again!! I want my sleep back!!
